Couture Sewing Course - Chanel-Style Jacket (on-site in Moers)

We will make a Chanel-style jacket with the original Chanel finishing method together in the studio and at home.

You will learn how Coco Chanel once tailored her jackets: with a loose, very light interlining and a special finishing technique that allows the jacket to remain soft and supple. We will show you the traditional craftsmanship – supplemented with efficient working methods, just as I learned them in Italy, and which are now only offered by a few haute couture tailors.

This course is intended for experienced hobby sewers, design students, tailors, and master tailors with solid basic knowledge. After registration, we will form small groups with similar sewing skills and coordinate the dates. The course usually runs for 4 days over 2 weekends with approximately a month apart, so you can calmly complete your "sewing homework."

The course takes place with 2-3 people in Moers. Please bring fabric, lining, patterns, etc., or order materials at a reduced price directly in the studio. If interested, you can also have a custom pattern made by us in advance.

We will provide you with delicious Sicilian pastries, coffee, espresso or tea, and a tasty lunch during the course. Upon request, you will receive a certificate of participation, and may be able to claim this course as a tax-deductible professional development expense.
